WORK COORDINATION IN THE INSPECTION COUNCIL

25.10.2023

Plamenka Bojcheva, the director of the Agency for the Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information, attended yesterday’s regular monthly coordination with state inspectorates in the Inspection Council, among others. The meeting’s topic was the Agency for the Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information’s Report on the Transparency of Inspection Services from the preceding year. According to this report, the market and administrative inspectorates stand out with the highest level of transparency on the official websites.

The right of access to information is one of the basic human rights and an obligation of the state institutions, which is why special emphasis was placed on the need for proactive publication of the information that these institutions create and have at their disposal. By strengthening active transparency, citizens are regularly informed about the work of the institutions and the work of the officials themselves is made easier. At the same time, the need for inclusiveness of websites was emphasised so that no citizen is left out of the right to be informed.

To fully apply the Agency’s instructions, the next month will be dedicated to the training of officials in the state inspection services and managers in these institutions.
