TRAINING FOR NEWLY APPOINTED OFFICIALS

The Agency for the Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information continues with the training for officials with holders of public information. The training entitled “Free access to public information and practical application of the Law on free access to public information”, this time realised with physical presence, was held on September 21, 2023, in the premises of the Agency. The training was primarily attended by newly appointed officials from the state administration bodies and local self-government units.

The training was carried out by a team of trainers from the Agency, and its purpose was to raise public awareness and the degree of familiarity of the holders of information with the Law on Free Access to Public Information, as well as their obligations stemming from it, with a special review of the manner of exercising the right of access to public information.

The newly appointed officials were familiarised with the history, the development of the right to free access to information and the legal legislation, with the meaning of the proactive transparency of the holders of information, as well as familiarisation with the portals and their application in the work of the persons in charge of mediating the public information. To this end, the procedure for requests for public information, the appeal and misdemeanour procedure, as well as the legal obligation of the holders to prepare their annual reports were explained in detail to the attendees.
