On the occasion of May 9 – Europe Day, a day that celebrates the idea of peace, democratic development, shared values, and equality, the Equal Opportunities Coordinators from the Agency for Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information participated in the National Consultation “From Commitments to Action: Gender-Responsive Roadmap for the EU Accession Agenda of the Republic of North Macedonia”, held at the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and organized by the Ministry for European Affairs in cooperation with the UN Women Office in the Republic of North Macedonia.

As part of the consultation, institutional priorities, recommendations, and proposed measures related to the clusters of the Strategy for the Pre-Accession Negotiations of the Republic of North Macedonia for membership in the European Union were discussed, with particular emphasis on integrating the gender perspective into policy-making processes, institutional planning, and statistical monitoring.

During the discussion, it was emphasized that transparency and access to information represent a key prerequisite for the development of gender-responsive policies and the successful implementation of the European integration process, as well as that a gender-responsive approach requires accessible, timely, and understandable information, institutional accountability, and access to relevant data.

In addition, the need to enhance proactive transparency, strengthen institutional coordination, and align with European standards in the areas of good governance, equal opportunities, and access to information was highlighted.
