WORKING MEETING: TRANSPARENCY OF POLITICAL PARTIES AND COALITIONS IN THE PRE-ELECTION AND ELECTION PERIOD

A working meeting was held in the premises of the Agency, entitled “Transparency of political parties and coalitions in the pre-election and election period”. Plamenka Bojcheva (Director of APFRPI) and Ilina Mangova (Regional Councilor for Europe, International Republican Institute — IRI) opened this working meeting with a welcoming address to the attendees.

After the opening address, Marija Sazdevski-Vangelovski (Senior Manager for Finance and Administration, IRI) and Petar Gajdov (State Counselor, APFRPI) made a brief review of situations and challenges in publishing public information by parties and coalitions related to elections and regular operation, giving, at the same time, guidelines for improving the transparency of political parties in the pre-election and election period.

On this occasion, the participants-representatives of political parties and coalitions in the Republic of North Macedonia, had the opportunity to share their practical experiences related to public information and talk about the challenges they faced with publishing information and reporting in the pre-election and election period.

Drawing conclusions from the discussion, Makfirete Morina-Sulejmani (Advisor for the Implementation of Administrative Procedures, APFRPI, and Moderator of the event) and Marija Sazdevski-Vangelovski closed the working meeting, emphasising the next steps that should contribute to increased transparency of political parties and coalitions in the pre-election and election period.
