28.09.2024

On the occasion of September 28 — the International Day for Universal Access to Information, the Agency for the Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information presented an author’s text in a special edition of the bulletin of the International Conference of Information Commissioners (ICIC), which seeks to emphasize the importance of fostering a global dialogue on access to information. In that sense, it is a product that brings together different perspectives and experiences, highlighting the critical role of access to information in the management, development and protection of human rights. That is why, in the foreword, the International Conference refers to the bulletin as “a testament to the power of cooperation and mutual learning among ICIC members in advancing the right to information.”

The special issue of the newsletter aims to provide a platform to share best practices, lessons learned and innovative approaches to overcoming barriers to information access. Through contributions from experts, practitioners and advocates of the right to information worldwide, the International Conference of Information Commissioners seeks to deepen the role of access to information in the management, development and protection of human rights.

The Agency, at the invitation of the International Conference, submitted an author’s text on the topic: “Inclusion of access to information and participation in the public sector”.
