PRESENTATION OF THE RIGHT TO FREE ACCESS TO PUBLIC INFORMATION FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF TETOVO STUDENTS
Today, a group of students from the University of Tetovo’s Faculty of Business Administration, a Public Administration major, attended a presentation on the right to free access to public information at the premises of the Agency for the Protection of the Right to Access to Public Information.
The purpose of introducing the students to the Law on Free Access to Public Information was to raise awareness of this fundamental human right guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia and the process by which the citizens could utilize that right.
The students were also given an overview of the Agency’s mission, its core competencies, and the activities it does to advance citizens’ right to free access to public information. In addition, an educational video targeted at information requesters was presented to the students.
The educational video covers the entire legal procedure for implementing the constitutionally guaranteed right of access to public information. Students could additionally look into the Agency’s educational materials designed to acquaint the applicants with the Law on Free Access to Public Information.
