MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION WITH THE ASSOCIATION “JOURNALISTS FOR HUMAN RIGHTS”

26.12.2022

Today, the Agency for the Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information and the Association of Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The Memorandum of Cooperation envisages the joint cooperation of the Agency and the JHR Association, as well as of other state institutions, regarding the approach for free access to public information as a tool for faster obtaining of institutional information related to the protection of children from disappearance.

The agency is involved in the activities of the Pilot-project for establishing an early warning system for missing children, which the Association implemented in cooperation with the partner organization ECPAT from Austria.

The project, which started in July 2021 and will last until December 2022, is being implemented by Journalists for Human Rights with financial support from the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection of the Republic of Austria. The main goal of the project is to develop an early warning system for missing children through a series of activities.

Within the framework of the project cycle, numerous activities were held until December 2022, through the introduction of good practices through the involvement of various parties in the process of eliminating the trafficking of children for labour/sexual exploitation. The Agency also actively participated in several round tables held at the workshops and study visits.
