INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM “PORTALS, REGISTRIES, PLATFORMS – DIGITAL AND TRANSPARENT” — POTSDAM, GERMANY
A representative of the Agency for the Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information participated in the International Symposium “Portals, Registers, Platforms – Digital and Transparent”, which was held on October 16th, 2023 in Potsdam, Germany.
The symposium’s theme was how open data platforms, transparency registries, and specialised portals for publishing and using them have been developing in recent years. Examples were presented of how administrations in European Union countries proactively publish more and more information on the internet and platforms specialised in open data.
At the symposium, international experts from the European Commission, Estonia, Slovenia, and a representative from the non-governmental sector from the Netherlands presented their presentations and experiences. The symposium was an excellent opportunity to see the experiences of open data and how much they are needed for the faster development of societies from several aspects: environment, administrative information, and the development of the business sector.
The symposium offered new perspectives and interesting insights into successful open data strategies and best practices.
