INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF INFORMATION COMMISSIONERS (ICIC) OBSERVED THE INTERNATIONAL ACCESS TO INFORMATION DAY

The International Day of Universal Access to Information 2024 was marked with a virtual event, organized by the National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data from Mexico, which also chairs the International Conference of Information Commissioners. (ICIC).

The International Conference was held on the theme: “Integrity, inclusion and future challenges for access to information in the public sector”, and was attended by a large number of representatives from institutions around the world, which take care of the implementation of this basic human right, the right to information.

At the invitation of the National Institute for Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data from Mexico, in the second panel on the topic: “The impact of information in the public sector”, the director of the Agency for the Protection of the Right to free access to public information, Plamenka Bojcheva participated as a panellist at the conference.

The aim of this conference was to create a space for dialogue and reflection to mark the International Day of Universal Access to Information 2024, but also to present, from a comparative perspective, contributions to transparency, access to information, integrity and public ethics policies.
