A SETTLEMENT PROCEDURE WAS IMPLEMENTED AGAINST THE OFFICIALS WHO DID NOT SUBMIT AN ANNUAL REPORT

11.07.2021

The first stage of the misdemeanor procedure initiated against the officials for mediating public information who did not submit an Annual Report on the implementation of the Law on Free Access to public information in 2020 was carried out by the Agency for the Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information over the past two weeks.

Additionally, 333 officials from 308 institutions who were required to submit an Annual Report on the implementation of the Law but did not do so within the required time frame participated in a settlement procedure.

There were a total of 59 officials who accepted the Settlement Invitation and signed the delinquent payment order, thus ending the proceedings against them.

The Agency’s Offenses Commission will continue proceedings against the remaining officials, the vast majority of whom have provided written clarifications and explanations for the reasons for (non) submission of the Annual Report.

After the full implementation of the misdemeanor procedure, the Agency for the Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information will come out with even more comprehensive data and appropriate analysis.
