AN INTERVIEW: “Citizens have the right to public information.”
“Citizens have the right to know how their money is spent through the budgets of the institutions, as well as to receive other data from various information holders. The Agency for the Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information reacts whenever the institutions do not provide the requested information”.
“In the Agency for the Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information, about 800 complaints are filed annually due to non-disclosure of information of public interest and silence of the administration. The reason for that is a lack of awareness among the management structures and services at all levels in the administration,” said the director of the Agency, Plamenka Bojcheva, in the morning appearance on the show “Morning Briefing”.
